10.21.2024: Halloween has a chokehold on Florida 🎃

I hope everyone has had a great week! I miss and love you all! 

I've been loving Brooksville!!! The people here are amazing and God has blessed us to meet so many great people! 

We met this week with our new friend, Lisa! She was waiting for us by the door because she was so excited that we were coming! We gave her a Book of Mormon and started teaching her about the gospel of Jesus Christ and the spirit was SO strong. Sitting there in this humble home, my first reaction was to hurry up and get out. But almost immediately God helped me feel the immense love He has for Lisa and the great importance it is that we help her to know Him. 

She doesn't have a car, but one of our STAR members was able to give her a ride so that she could come to church! When she got there she found us and said "I MADE IT!" (grinning from ear to ear) I know God has big plans for her  

We also got to meet with an 80 year old man named  Robert. So cool, he told me he had an aunt who lived in Aptos,CA! I was shocked, haha! Anyway, we shared with him about how we are each children of God and that God knows him by name. His response was so sincere:  "Wow, that's heavy!" Robert's reaction hit me. For it truly is so beautiful to know that we each have a Heavenly Father who knows us by name and loves us. And that love isn't temporary or conditional, it's infinite. 

We got to help with more hurricane clean up this weekend! It was awesome! This time we did lots of tree work - I was wondering where the chipper was though?? (My dad would have Florida running way more efficiently ) Everyone just makes huge piles in the front of their yard in hopes that the city will one day pick it up, haha! 

Halloween has a chokehold on Florida! People here are WEIRDLY obsessed with it  Every other house has these 20 foot statues of every creepy thing you can think of... don't understand it and it creeps me out!

Spiritual Thought : 

Matthew 4:20 

" And they straightway left their nets, and followed Him." 

I LOVE this scripture! It's so simple, yet SO powerful! Christ was inviting the apostles to leave their nets and come follow Him. He is inviting YOU to do the same. Our nets can take on many forms, but all He is asking is for us to come follow Him. I promise that as you turn to Jesus Christ, you will experience enduring joy and overflowing happiness. It's all in your control! I invite you to leave your net today, and go follow Jesus Christ.
